Seek
But after we ask, we must begin to seek. This is the second step. Seeking is when we look around for how God might answer our prayers looking around with eyes of faith for how God might be providing answers. A second level of prayer is denoted by this word seek. Seeking reveals something hidden or unseen. Not only that but seeking requires the element of time. Seeking is not a simple action, it is a process, a series of actions. Jesus is telling us here that there are issues in our lives that need more than asking; there must be seeking and searching. If something is lost and hidden, prayer then becomes a search, a request for insight, for understanding, for solving our situations that we confront. Seek and the answer is undeniably certain. Seek, and you will find.
