I believe that many societies have distorted views about the true value of women. We think that those societies only exist in some underdeveloped countries where poverty and stern religious beliefs prevail. This slanted view move us on many occasions to start condemning those societies but unfortunately we fail to stop and assess our own views on this issue.
If we are meticulous in our investigations, we can detect that even in the most civilized societies, we see this distorted view but it takes a more sophisticated nature, a different camouflaged form. In those sophisticated societies women are taught indirectly that they need to act in a certain way to add value or even to have a respected status. It is the way they walk and talk or the clothes they wear or the car they drive. The social status defines the true value.
This assumption implies that we have no value to begin with or our value falls short in the eyes of our societies or ourselves. This drives women into an arena where they feel the need to do or possess things to add value and be loved. They fail to realize that the possessed things are loved and valued not them. This struggle where they feel that they have to fight to maintain their value will lead them to dropping ethical principles along the way. Remember that the way we perceive our own value has a direct effect on our conduct and the way we behave.
This concept stems from failing to realize that our true value originates from our Creator. This revelation makes an immense impact on how we perceive our value. We are perfectly made in the image of God and have a soul which has greater value than all the world’s possessions.
Our true value was further stressed by the invaluable and immeasurable blood of Jesus Christ. Our self-worth is not based on what other people tell us about ourselves but on how the Creator perceives us. ” Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”(Matthew 10:29-31). Isaiah 13:12 “I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even more rare than the golden wedge of Ophir.” The Bible repeatedly confirms that women have value and worth that is in every way equal to men and honors women as women. Women are not a mere afterthought, but are an essential and equal part of God’s plan for human beings
THERE IS NO NEED TO ACT OR POSSES RICHES TO ADD VALUE TO YOURSELF, NOR PERFORM WELL….GOD ALREADY KNOWS HOW VERY PRECIOUS YOU ARE……YOU JUST HAVE TO REALIZE YOUR TRUE VALUE IN HIM….
