“This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15
This was the Lord’s answer to Jehoshaphat, after three enemies have agreed to come against him. The important question is what did Jehoshaphat, who trembled when he realized what he was up against, do to get this breakthrough and get this kind of an answer from the Lord?
1. Jehoshaphat was afraid but he set his face to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast to the Lord. Not after all options were consumed but the Lord was his first option to solve his problem.
2. He reminded God of his greatness compared to his battle and that God is able to solve his problems. Are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.
3. He reminded God how He helped them in the past so He will not fail them again. Did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?
4. He admitted that he cannot fight this battle and he totally depends on God and not man. For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
For these reasons Jehoshaphat got breakthrough answer to his prayer that penetrated all barriers and all impossibilities and you can also get a breakthrough answer from our mighty God that penetrates all the impossibilities in your life and He alone can set you free from your difficult situation.
