“People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy.” Ecclesiastes 9:12
7. When your world falls apart remember that God restores, He redeems.
Does God really restore?
In Joel 2: 25 God says ”And I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”
How devastating it feels when your life is eaten away by locust? That which the palmerworm has left has the locust eaten; that which the locust has left has the cankerworm eaten; that which the cankerworm has left has the caterpillar eaten. All is gone. It is total destruction. The locust, the cankerworm, the palmerworm, and the caterpillar represent destruction of different types and direction. Problems came in from all directions, flying from the sky above and from the ground up and just devoured everything. And your world just fell apart.
No matter where you stand today, in which phase of the falling apart, God is reminding us today and declaring that “I will restore to you the years that were lost”
Lost years can never be restored they are gone for ever. See, the locusts did not eat the years, it ate the fruit of the years, the blessings designated to us. God will restore the fruits and the harvests which the locusts consumed. God wants to give back to you the wasted blessings. GOD RESTORES.
Remember God will not let you be destroyed. God designed you to endure the trials that are set in your way by the enemy so they will not destroy you. God promises that when you fall, you will not be destroyed. “Though he stumbles, he will not fall.” The reason is clear. He upholds us with his mighty hand.
Listen, we will not utterly fall because God will not let go.
He restored, Peter, Job, Joseph, David, Jabez, Jonah. He will restore your life back from the shattered pieces to a beautiful piece of art again and again. He is the great restorer and redeemer.
